The Moon Run Fire Company is dedicated to safeguarding the lives and property of residents, employees, and visitors in our vibrant township.

We proudly offer comprehensive Fire, EMS, and Rescue services. Our dynamic team, consisting of both dedicated volunteers and professional duty crew members, ensures unwavering readiness and response around the clock.

Our station is actively manned every day of the week, guaranteeing prompt and efficient service whenever the need arises.

The Year the Band Came Together

The truck is painted in deep red and features chrome accents, red emergency lights, and the words "Moon Run Vol. Fire Co." emblazoned on the side and front.Founded in 1939, the Moon Run Volunteer Fire Company was started by half a dozen men with a desire to provide adequate fire coverage to the Moon Run neighborhood. 

The fire company’s beginnings are a little peculiar. Mr. Thomas Karabinos provided the following information from his memories of beginnings of the fire company. Willie Stanislaw, an accordion player, and William “Buttles” Zigmond, a drummer, started up a band. They began holding dances at the old Slovene Club on McKees Rocks Road. They called their band “The Crazy Club.” The name was quite appropriate; their purpose was to liven-up the neighborhood and have some fun. MORE
